Got the tree!

We went on a big adventure this weekend and cut down our own tree! It was quite cold, but we were thankful not to be trudging through snow to find it :)Cole patiently waiting for the tree to be chopped down... This was Cole waiting to see Santa - he was quite excited (a small change from last year!).

He told Santa he wanted trains and race cars and kitties. I joked with him the other day about kitties....but he really liked the idea. Hopefully Santa does NOT bring that toy!

A sweater refashion...

So I saw this post at: http://mymamamadeit.blogspot.com/2009/11/sweater-capelet-wrap-refashion-tutorial.html. I LOOOOOVE everything she makes in her blog - but thought THIS one could be doable....
Note...the tutorial and the glass of wine :)

Tadaaa! Super cute if I do say so myself.
I was so excited when I was done that I actually asked the husband what he thought - big mistake. His response? "It's a shawl." Ha....what does he know. This is a SHRUG not a shawl! He could not squelch my excitement on this one :)

I can actually make stuff!

I am so amazed with myself and the fact that I can actually make stuff that I need to share it all with you! Here are my most recent decorations...

Pinecones on ribbon - the cinnamon scented ones - YUM!

Framed Keys....Haven't you been loving the keys in Pottery Barn and Ballard lately?! I had these keys laying around, so one day I went to the Dollar Tree and found $1 black frames. I used some super cheap burlap and glued it right to the back. Then I hot glued the keys right on. Wala!
